The
Mohawk International Raceway,
formerly the Frogtown International Speedway
was established in August of 1987. The track attracts racers from Eastern
Ontario, Quebec, Northern New York and Vermont. Located on Frogtown Road
just off State Route 37 in Hogansburg, New York - we can be reached from
any direction and we're just minutes from the International Bridge to
Canada at Cornwall, Ontario.
Having
recently celebrated its 20th anniversary under the Frogtown International
Speedway banner, the facility opened again May 3rd, 2008 - this time under
the new and much more fitting moniker of Mohawk International Raceway!
The addition of new facilities at the track has marked the dawning of
a new era of racing and entertainment at this staple of the Northeast.
For the
2009 Racing Season, Mohawk International Raceway has switched to Friday
Night Racing. Races will start at 7:45PM. During the winter months, the
track facility has been completely rebuilt from the ground up including
new grandstands, new fencing and new Musco Stadium Lights to make MIR
one of the premier dirt tracks in the northeast.
This 3/8
Mile dirt oval track features 4 classes of racing including DIRTcar
358 Modified, UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks, Street Stocks and Bandits.
Each class is unique in itself and every series features some of the area's
most elite and passionate drivers. Fans have come to expect the best shows
and most dedicated racers each and every week.
This
is expected to be one of the most thrill-packed summers to date and will
feature more special races then EVER before including The Lucas Oil Series,
the return of the Super Dirt Series - plus long-time featured events such
as the Memorial Cup, the RACE OF CHAMPIONS, The Frenchies Chevrolet American
Revolution Series and of course the return of the Empire Super Sprints.!
